Rosebank Engineering specialises in precision manufacture including micro grinding of precision parts for hydraulic flight control, landing gear, airframe, mechanical components and other fine mechanisms.

All our precision grinding, lapping, honing, EDM and assembly take place in environmentally controlled clean rooms; (Class 100, 10,000 and 100,000). Here the temperature and humidity control ensures machine stability, while the air filtering systems minimises the effect of air borne contaminants in precision operations. Further process control is enabled by having the machine tools mounted on a pneumatically suspended inertia beams to isolate them from external vibration.

Into this environment is matched quality equipment which we painstakingly maintain to ensure they perform to optimal specification performance. We operate up to 5-axis machine centers, OD and ID grinders, electro-discharge machines (EDM) and jig grinders. To ensure your components are the right geometrical tolerances we employ a range of measuring equipment including Tesa SA and Taylor Hobson  precision measuring instruments, air gauging, roundness and surface measuring equipment.

Many of the parts we manufacture are critical defence aerospace components and as such require rigorous testing in a controlled environment. We design and manufacture a number of our own hydraulic test benches which are housed in a class 100 clean room. We have designed and manufactured GSE including hydraulic test stands with up to 100 gallon/minute flow capability and at operation pressures from 3000 to 9000+ psi.

Increasingly, our F35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) actuation systems manufacturing work has borne novel and innovative automated inspection systems (metrology) and robotic systems to enhance turn-around-time and reduce costs to our clients. These systems have already produced great savings and together with our continued improvement programs, clients can be assured of our ability to deliver on time.  While our non JSF clients might not need to provide one aircraft a day, these innovations are available to all our clients.
