Rosebank Engineering Award Profile
In 1992, Rosebank Engineering was awarded the Australian Industry Quality and Achievement Award in the category of Capital Equipment under $20 million by the then Minister of Defence, the Hon. Robert Ray.
In 1997, Rosebank Engineering was awarded Approved Engineering Organisation (AEO) Status with the Department of Defence for F/RF111 and more recently for F/A-18 and P3C aircraft.
In March 2001, Gordon Kennett owner and Managing Director of Rosebank Engineering Pty Ltd was awarded the prestigious Ian Clunies Ross Memorial Foundation 2001 Award for the application of Science and Technology for his pioneering work in developing unique capabilities for precision engineering and hydraulic systems to support advanced complex servo control systems found in Australian Defence Force (ADF) platforms, biomedical and nano technological applications.
In June 2001, Gordon Kennett, representing Rosebank Engineering, was invited to become a Board of Governor of the Warren Centre for Advanced Engineering, operating within the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Sydney.
In December 2001, the Victorian State Government awarded Rosebank Engineering the Manufacturing Hall of Fame, Certificate of Manufacturing Excellence. This was presented personally by The Hon. Rob Hulls, Minister for Manufacturing in June 2002.
In August 2002 Rosebank Engineering was awarded Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) Status with the Department of Defence for F/RF111 and more recently for P3C aircraft.
In May 2003, the Victorian State Government awarded a further higher honour to Rosebank Engineering the Manufacturing Hall of Fame Award for Manufacturing Excellence and induction of into the Hall of Fame. This was presented personally by The Hon. Hon Tim Holding MP, Minister for Manufacturing and Export at a Gala Dinner in Melbourne Australia.
In June 2003, Rosebank Engineering was awarded the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) Inaugural ScoreCard Award. The Award presented by the Under Secretary of Defence Materiel Mick Roche, recognises "Rosebank Engineering for achieving consistently excellent results over a number of rounds of the Defence Company ScoreCard scheme". The Award, established by USDM Mick Roche, "publicly recognises those companies that continually deliver high quality goods and services to Defence. With six rounds of assessments now completed, we believe we have a sound basis for assessing and recognising outstanding contractor performance;" stated (Dr) Tom Ioannou, Acting Head Industry Division.
In June 2003, Gordon Kennett was awarded the Centenary of Federation Medal for Service to Australia’s Defence Industry for his pioneering work in developing unique capabilities and infrastructure to support advanced complex servo control systems found on the F-111.
On 9 June 2004 the Australian DoD Director of Industry Programs Mr Rob Hathaway entered into a Deed of Agreement approving Rosebank's membership into the DRSS scheme and which licenses Rosebank to use the DRSS logo for a period of five years.
The DRSS is aimed at helping globally competitive Australian defence suppliers export their products and services to foreign markets. The Scheme allows Australian businesses to use a distinctive logo pictured, identifying themselves as approved suppliers to the Australian Defence Organisation (ADO) recognised as a very demanding customer and a well-respected user of advanced military and civil products and services who demand high standards from its suppliers.
On 11 March 2005 Rosebank achieved external certification to AS/EN AS9100 Rev B through Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA).
September 2005, our Bayswater site has been certified by PRI/Nadcap for NDT FPI, MPI and Etch and has successfully completed the first surveillance audit in 2006.
October 2006 our Bayswater site has been certified by PRI/Nadcap for Wet Processing (Electroplating).
Defence Materiel Instruction Industry 01/2006 : Policy for Access to Future Sustainment Work To Support Niche Industry Capabilities (High Precision Engineering Services) as part of Defence Policy initiatives was issued highlighting Rosebank’s capabilities and contribution to DoD’s. “Defence is keen to retain the high precision engineering service provided by Rosebank Engineering in-country. The high precision engineering capabilities offered by Rosebank Engineering are currently utilised on a large number of ADF platforms and, in some instances, are a critical determinant in the level of operational capability provided by these platforms”.
Rosebank Engineering currently holds the RAAF Engineering Authority (EA) delegated by the Director General of Technical Airworthiness to approve non-significant and significant design on hydraulic, fuel systems, mechanical, and flight control components and support equipment. The EA covers the following aircraft types in service with the DoD; F/A-18, F-111, S-70B-2 Seahawk, DHC4 Caribou, B707, C130H and J Hercules, PC-9, S-70A-9 Blackhawk, CH47 Chinook, UH-1H Iroquois, Bell 206 Kiowa, Squirrel and Support Equipment.
