After 19 years of overhaul and remanufacture the last F-111 Servo Damper Servo Valve (SDSV) has been completed at REB using the same Image 3000 test bench originally installed in the (then newly commissioned) class 100 cleanroom at Port Melbourne for this very task.

Warren Centre Awards Gordon Kennett Innovation Heroes Award

It is with great pride that Rosebank Engineering announces that founder and Managing Director Gordon Kennett is a recipient of the Warren Centre for Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Heroes Award. The Warren Centre, part of the University of Sydney, awarded the Heroes Award to Mr Kennett for his pioneering work in founding and developing precision engineering technology required to meet the demanding requirements for the manufacture and sustainment of Australia’s military aircraft fleets. The award recognises Gordon’s pioneering and continuing efforts that for nearly 30 years has seen the development of unique technological and innovative engineering solutions and facilities to help keep Australia’s military aircraft flying.
COMBET OPENS ULTRA PRECISION

Greg Combet, Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Procurement, today officially opened Rosebank Engineering’s Ultra Precision Center in Bayswater in Victoria. The Ultra Precision Centre is a leading edge metal engineering facility with the capability to support military platforms including the F-111, F/A-18 Hornet and AP-3C Orion aircraft, as well as helicopters and emerging capabilities such as the Global Hawk and other Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.

After 31 years, Rosebank’s original home in Nott St Port Melbourne has closed. The relocation to the new Headquarters in Mountain Highway Bayswater, offers the opportunity to consolidate the two Melbourne facilities on one large site in Melbourne ’s outer East Industrial precinct. The site will provide for a much larger Precision Hydraulics and Fine Mechanism Facility (PHMF) and efficiencies in workflow and management of resources.

AIDN-Vic presented its third AIDN-Vic Young Achiever Award. The finalists were Donovan Ang, of Tenix Marine and Simon Hack, Rosebank Engineering. The winner of the 2007 AIDN-Vic Young Achiever Award was Donovan Ang. Simon Hack was nominated in his leading edge work in development of Supersonic Particle Deposition.

Amongst a distinguished group of VIPs including the Hon. Daryl Williams, the Hon. Graham West and Professor Brook (Austria), the team of Andreas Boehmer, Gerardo Chairez and Aditya Dubey accepted the Highly Commended 2nd Prize for Best Student Developed Web Site at the 10th Annual Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) Awards. The team developed the Rosebank Engineering’s new web site whilst being students at Swinburne University in 2003.
Transition of F/A-18 Hydraulics

Another string has been added to Rosebank Engineering’s bow with the completion of transition of F/A-18 flight control components from Qantas Defence Services Bankstown to Rosebank Engineering Amberley. The transition schedule was relatively tight transition commencing on 01 July 03, culminating in commencement of production 25 August 03.
