ROSEBANK ENGINEERING SECURES PRESTIGIOUS DMO INAUGURAL SCORECARD AWARD

3 July 2003

We are delighted to announce that Rosebank Engineering has won the DMO Inaugural ScoreCard Award. The Award presented by the Under Secretary Defence Materiel Mick Roche, recognises “Rosebank Engineering for achieving consistently excellent results over a number of rounds of the Defence Company ScoreCard scheme”.

The inaugural DMO ScoreCard Awards was presented during the Defence + Industry Conference at the National Convention Centre in Canberra on 24 June 2003 in the presence of local and international industry, defence, and government officials at an official dinner. Present at the Awards Dinner, was the Hon. Senator Robert Hill, Minister for Defence and Leader of the Government in the Senate.

The Award, established by USDM Mick Roche, “publicly recognises those companies that continually deliver high quality goods and services to Defence. With six rounds of assessments now completed, we believe we have a sound basis for assessing and recognising outstanding contractor performance;” stated (Dr) Tom Ioannou, Acting Head Industry Division in a Letter to Managing Director of Rosebank Engineering, Gordon Kennett.

The Award was accepted on behalf of Mr Kennett (who was absent overseas), by Rosebank’s General Manager Mr Craig Butler. “This is an Award that all Staff of Rosebank Engineering can be truly proud of and recognises the contribution of each and every member of staff since Rosebank Engineering began its relationship with DoD in the mid 1980’s;” stated Mr. Butler.

Mr Kennett congratulated all staff for their tireless work to achieve this result. “We have always aimed to create a centre of excellence in Flight Controls, Wheels, Brakes and Undercarriages and importantly, a truly partnering relationship with the Department of Defence; Mr Kennett stated. “From the start, we were fortunate in having established an open and very honest relationship with DoD. This relationship has seen us expand our operation from our beginnings in Port Melbourne across the eastern seaboard of Australia. It has been our business objective to work closely with our clients, and in the case of the RAAF and Army, to develop excellent working level relationships from the policy makers in Canberra to the Weapon and Systems Business Units and Logistics staff. This in turn has enabled us to continually improve our quality and engineering standards to higher and higher levels to support their needs;” Mr Kennett said.

“Our company has been built on innovation and value for money for our clients and this philosophy matched well the aims and objectives of the Department of Defence. This Award will allow us to further our relationship with DoD and our aims to establish our company as a centre of excellence in all that we do”; Mr Butler stated.

We wish to thank the USDM Mick Roche, our clients, and colleagues throughout the DoD for this award and their continued level of support and cooperation.
