Warren Centre Awards Gordon Kennett Innovation Heroes Award
3 July 2009
It is with great pride that Rosebank Engineering announces that founder and Managing Director Gordon Kennett is a recipient of the Warren Centre for Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Heroes Award. The Warren Centre, part of the University of Sydney, awarded the Heroes Award to Mr Kennett for his pioneering work in founding and developing precision engineering technology required to meet the demanding requirements for the manufacture and sustainment of Australia’s military aircraft fleets.
The award recognises Gordon’s pioneering and continuing efforts that for nearly 30 years has seen the development of unique technological and innovative engineering solutions and facilities to help keep Australia’s military aircraft flying.
Mr Kennett stated, “I am honoured to have received this award. I have spent most of my working adult life in building my company into the very best "Holistic Engineering Company" that I could. Rosebank encompasses engineering, design, R&D, prototyping, complete production (machining, plating, painting, testing, etc.), spares provisioning and component life cycle management – focusing on life extension of assets - for our customers under one roof”.
Through Gordon's leadership, Rosebank has developed a self-sustaining Research and Development capability that has manifested this capability in a "centre of excellence" concept that fosters a corporate environment where innovation and its application are developed and rewarded. This support hinges on the techniques developed by Mr Kennett aimed “at solving unique engineering problems for our military while bringing the cost of owning those assets down through our innovative solutions”. Gordon and his team ensure that these techniques are continually improved upon in order to keep at the leading edge of technological development.
