The management and Staff of Rosebank Engineering are proud to announce that Rosebank’s Managing Director Gordon Kennett was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia in Queens Birthday Honours List!

The Award received by Mr Kennett’s states that his award is  for service to engineering as an innovator in the fields of precision machining and hydraulics, and to the preservation of Australia's military heritage .

Mr Kennett says he was humbled by the Award and that it was a team effort.  His dedication to this vision and innovation has seen the company grow from humble beginnings 33 years ago, to being a medium sized company, sited in 3 states on the East coast of Australia and importing manufactured and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul services globally.

Gordon stated that he believed that one essential element to his success over the years was his shared passion with his staff for the work that is carried out for Australia’s Defence Forces and in particular, the Royal Australian Air Force.  “The RAAF shared my vision and with their support saw my innovative techniques and engineering approach employed to solve major issues with the F-111 Fleet in the 1980’s grow to supporting most of the aircraft in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) inventory”, Mr Kennett stated.  “From those initial Flight controls on the F-111s, we expanded across other weapon platforms and systems, to Landing Gear, aircraft wheels & brakes, electro-hydraulic and fluid flow components and systems, mechanical and airframe components and other fine mechanisms through to assembly and test of mechanical, hydraulic, fuel and airframe components.  Our research and development emphasis continues as we expand our material sciences into new areas including Supersonic Particle Deposition;  and new technology enhancements to extend aircraft component life and reduce logistics costs”, stated Mr Kennett.

Rosebank Engineering has delegated Engineering and Maintenance Authorities from the Commonwealth of Australia’s Director General of Technical Airworthiness to approve non-significant and significant design on hydraulic, fuel systems, mechanical, and flight control components and support equipment.  This covers the following aircraft types in service with the ADF; F/A-18, F-111, DHC4 Caribou, B707, C130H and J Hercules, PC-9, S-70A-9 Blackhawk, S-70B-2 Seahawk, CH47 Chinook, UH-1H Iroquois, Bell 206 Kiowa, Squirrel and Support Equipment.

Rosebank Engineering was recently named co-winner of the number 1 Australian Defence Magazine 2009 Australian and New Zealand Owned SME’s.  Overall Rosebank was the 6th largest defence SME in Australia and 36th largest defence company overall in Australia‘s Top 40 defence companies (refer to this link: http://www.rosebank-eng.com.au/news~latest_news~AustralianDefenceMagazineDefenceIndustryAward.html )
